Sony® Blu-ray DiscTM Player BDP-BX2 Review

I have watched this player for Christmas and now have had time to many videos on it. This is my first Blu-Ray, so I have no others to compare it to, only what I read in other reviews.
First I must say that this is a good no-frills player. If you want bells and whistles you need to pay more, and you look elsewhere. By comparing the Blue-Ray format to progressive scan (Upconvert) DVD, I find that the framework for most of the live-action film is simply exceptional and an order ofOrder of magnitude better. Anime, like the recent release of Sleeping Beauty on Blu-Ray, the difference is small. However, I see as a function of the player, but the film itself.
Setup for the car was a breeze and everything works as advertised on the setup. I'm beginning to believe that this is a rarity. I do not have the car long enough to testify to its reliability, but I found the Sony products are generally reliable in the past.
There areonly a couple of things that I have a problem with, and these are only small nits:
- I would have preferred an eject button on the remote.
- Do not know how the idea of firmware upgrades. This means they are always tinkering with it. Pick up the rule and leave them alone. I have heard horror stories about these firmware updates. The other, what is bad for the fact that you can order online via a Cat5e cable connector. What do you do when you have no network?
- All myOther devices that use an HDMI cable allow me the sound through the TV or stereo amplifier at the same time they have. How can I decide how I want the sound with little effort. In this device, you must set in order to play one or the other. If you want change, we must go to configure the audio setup menu and the new device.
Another commentator said he had problems with the cable TV remote programmed for that device. I use a Logitech Harmony 550Programmable remote control for all my equipment now, and I had no problem doing this new unit planned for the remote.
